Found my Brittle Star !!!

I bought an orange brittle star when we set the tank up last Spring. Seen him a few times for the first month, than nothing. Thought he died or was stuck in a rock. I was feeding the fish tonight and happened to look over at something sticking out of one of the slots in the overflow box, yep ... it was one of his arms. Should I get him out and put him back in the tank, or let him be ?

He's clear at the bottom. The Megaflow PVC has a protector cap on it. I can't believe he is still alive.
