I personally do not think there is one great heater.

I have been using won-brother heaters for years but I removed the controller that came with them because they sucked and used my own. The controller was removal-able thankfully.

I use the Renas. Everything else I have tryed has stuck on. Atleast yours is fried, rather stuck heating 29G of water who who knows how long. :P

Yeah, its a good thing it didn't stick on. I personally have never had a problem with my finnex heater. The one I use in my 30g is from day one. It is not the digital style which I have read more problems with. Next purchase for heaters will be Rena smart heaters. Where did you buy it and what is the warranty? I beleive that finnex stands behind their equipment pretty strongly. And if you got it from foster Smith you call them and maybe they will show you some love. Squeeky wheel gets the grease
