    Default led vs neon tubes

    i have a bunch or car neons laying around my leds are burn out so lets see what happens
    so lets kill a lil time and build it and find out
    to start i took the plastic sheild off my light the factory leds were junk

    i removed the sheild and drilled a few holes for zip ties caden wanted to help

    i installed 2 15" neon tubes


    ran the wires powered up and looked ok

    with pc on

    now the final test how does it look at night

    That is bright, maybe only needed one!!

    Too much light for a night period. Your corals need a non-photo period. But very cool either way!

    pic makes it look brighter than it is in person does make the orange on my clown pop tho
    i think led's i have seen are brighter
    the 75 will be getting led's on a timer

    I have LED night lites on my 120. I never used them. They are bright enough that corals didn't close for the night.

    i would prob have them on from main lights off till around 11 but again it will all depend what i have in my tank

    neat idea, i just hope it doesnt start some kind of crazy algae bloom. i really have no idea about those neons operate though so they may be fine.
