Default What's your favorite bulb color

Currently I run 12000k bulbs. I am going to need news ones soon. What is everyone's favorite color temp?

I have used 20000k, 14000k, and 6500ks in the past. The lower temps seemed best for the corals but not my eyes.

I love my 20k XM's I think they bring out the best color and it is as blue as other 20k bulbs out there, JMO. I too need a new bulb bad, im trying to talk to better half in getting me one for V-day she doesn't really see the romance in that though haha. I think it is a very romantic gift but then again I think fishing is romantic

I really like the look of the 20K, and the growth of the 10K. So I settled for 14K's with good actinics. The frag tank is running a 20K as I have no actinics on it yet. When I finish the lighting I think I will end up with 10K's.

halides tend to drop PAR the higher the kelvin gets. i have 5 20k, 2 14k (pepto pink color) and one 6500k in T5s

Im not to worried about the PAR to much seeing how its a 250w over a 24gal cube haha, but you are right about the higher K.

I have been using the XM 20k 150w Halides supplemented with 4 24w actinic. I am happy with this combo. It's easy on my eyes and my corals seem to do good under them.

Don't get the growth that a 10k or 14k give, but I'm in no hurry right now. Chalices, Acans, Montis all do good under the 20k. Acros are a bit slower though. I was hoping to get a meeting date in May-June when its warmer.
