    Default Equipment Maintenance

How often and what kind of maintenance you all do to your equipment?

I clean my Tunze waveboxes and Streams once a year, but they say to do in every 6 months

My Koralias get a 24 hour 50/50 Vinegar/Water soak once a month too much Coraline algae build up. Skimmer cup is cleaner every three days or so. It gunks up pretty fast, might be a sign I need a larger skimmer hehe. Scrape my front glass of coraline weekly, and the back monthly. Thats about it.

I'd watch those koralia powercords closely when soaking in vinegar. I did the same thing with mine and after a while the outer cord wrap started to get a little spongy and felt like it was seperating about an inch or so at the point where it comes out of the pump. Now I try not to immerse the cord when soaking in vinegar.
Today just happens to be maintenance day on the tanks. The Finnex gets the royal 1 year service. Return pump and return piping get a quick clean in full strength vinegar. Tunze 9002 skimmer get brushed and rinsed. Tunze osmolator ATO gets checked and optic sensor cleaned. MP10 wetside gets a soak once a month. Because this tank is all in one I siphon out detritus collected in sump areas once a month during a water change. All lighting gets checked and cleaned on a monthly basis. Ph probe cleaned and recalibrated.
