    Default Coral origin

Does a corals origin matter to you when you are purchasing one?

For me I prefer to try to purchase only corals that are frags from someone's tank or from a company that has grown it out. All corals in my tank now are frags but one, the SG Lettuce Coral is the only one that maybe from the ocean directly but I am not 100% sure. All my other corals are frags from local and online places.

Very much so! But sadly many retailers say a coral is Aqua/Mari cultured and you can't tell the difference. Hence the reason for the frag tank, to spread the love, and keep the coral were they belong. In a reef.

Absolutely! I confer with Tech on this one. I think it is equally important to know and trust your retailer or provider.

Glad someone is with me :P This really is a sustainable hobby for the most part.

I think a huge part of it is educating new reefers. Don't go buy that colony of whatever unless you know you can keep it. Buy Aqua cultured wherever possible, and maricultured.
