    Default Derasa Clam

Some information about the Derasa Clam from my views and some from the internet.

    Scientific name: (Tridacna derasa)

Minimum tank size: 75 Gallon or larger.

Food: Filter feeder so it just needs lights and medium flow. Offering phytoplankton and other micro-foods may help this clam grow old.

Care/Compatibility: Easy, The Deresa Clam requires calcium levels of 400-480 mg/L, and an alkalinity of 7 to 12 degrees. Proper levels of strontium and iodine are also needed. I had mine under 400w MH but I would say you could use 75watt or above depending on the location in the tank.

Other: The Derasa Clam is the most widely available and hardy of the Tridacna clams
