i have a scooter also and they dont seem to pay attention to each other at all,the flametail likes to hide in crevises with his head sticking out keeping an eye on whats going on . i have a piece of bali ball liverock with a frogspawn stuck in one of the crevises and it likes to hang out under it. pretty cool!!!!!!!!!!. i dont see it eating any algae, it likes the flake and mysis and really about anything i feed the other fish,it has a pretty big mouth and seems to like anything that fits!!!!!!!!!

i do feed marine two pellets also to makes sure the scooter gets enough to eat so maybe it doesnt pick at the algae as much because it gets enough from the pellets. my tank has only been up for about 7-8 mos. so if your tank has been set up longer it will have more to eat.
