hi i'm wanting to get a new tank. i have a 50 gallon now. i am wanting to keep my baby hepatus tang and midas blenny. i also want to keep my brain coral some zoos mushrooms xenia and a gorgonian.i have live rock and live sand i want to keep too. i am doing well now except i want new lights and just an easier setup. i am wondering how i can get a new tank and and get it ready so i can move all of my stuff from one tank to another.
i want a bigger tank (no more than 100 gallons) and i am on a budget( speaking of how i'm 14 and my money is all allowance and christmas money i have saved up.)
i want advice on how i can have the tank switch without having my floors break underneath the weight of the tanks. i need to know how i can keep my fish and corals alive and where to get a cheap tank and cheap metal halides. i am wanting to keep clams sometime in the future and i need to know what light is best for them. i have read diy stuff on refugiums and i want to start one of those too. please tell me advice on most of the stuff you can and remember my budget.

I would recommend a 90 or 100 since you have a Hippo Tang. Also they make a 120 that is the same length as a 75. Watching the used equipment forum is best for finding deals. Sometimes you can get a tank really cheap. The same with Equipment usually equipment is more than 50% original price.

As for moving are you wanting the new tank in the same place as your current tank? If so then moving all at once will be needed. You can move the live stock to a holding tank for a few hours. If it is in a different location just move the livestock once you have the new tank in place. Using the live rock and some of the sand will help keep any cycles down.

As for the floor, you would want to ask your parents or have someone over to look at the spot you are putting the tank. You may need to brace the floor with supports.

you should be fine, i would try to not disturb the sand as much as possible.
