Do you clean your refugiums ?

How many clean their refugiums and how often ?

i prune my cheato about every 2 weeks, and blast my live rock with a turkey baster weekly to stir up any debris sitting on it.

Some people say they empty theirs and actually clean it out. I have never done anything to mine. I have some snails and crabs in it.

I have never cleaned mine. I have critters for that. I, like Jeremy, prune the cheato and stir up the sand a little...free food for the corals. I would think that tearing it down would not be beneficial at all to the system.

That's what I was thinking. I would think that would deplete your pods down there, and maybe mess with the water quality. Mine looks pretty gross. My cheato don't look like it's grown since I got it. But, I do have a lot of pods in there.
