Was wondering what everybody has to help keep the tank clean? How many shrimp per gallon? Which snails are good, which crabs?

Here is the way I look at it, they recommend 1 per gallon but what happens when you had 20 and half die, your tank goes to crap. You add 5-10 and some die and it is not a big deal. You will have death out of some of them, it just happens, nothing can be done to stop it.

i have two sandsifting stars and a couple shrimp in the 150 plus two turbo snails which i hate. crabs and snails just knock everything off the rocks and break corals etc. i don't add them anymore. plus there survival rate with my wrasse is not good. he thinks there a nice snack.
