    Default 30 X-High...empty

I'm totally incorrigible, I know it.

Friday I emptied my old 30 X-High tank which was FW planted because the plants were deteriorating badly all of a sudden. I don't think the lighting was reaching the bottom - common issue with these X-high tanks. So now fish and plants are in a 20 regular and seem to be happy again.

Now I'm looking at the empty tank sitting there on the floor in the living room and I can't help but think "Hm, that would sure make a nice fish only SW tank!"

Anyone want to enable my addiction by posting suggestions for a FOWLR?

Have a tank with Clownfish, gobies, and other small fish.

I adore all those fish. Too bad they don't make a mini-puffer. I love puffers!

They do! Toby puffers! Of course, they don't look too much like porcupine puffers.

I say go with a biotope of some sort, that isn't heavy on light-requiring corals or something. I'll elaborate more in a bit. I have some homework to do.

A saltwater planted tank would be awesome with a deep sand bed. Get some Garden Eels, maco algeas, minimal live rock, and some sea horses or some picasso or snowflake clowns. I have seen one before and it is amazing!

I'd second the seahorse idea...a tank that tall would be a good match for some of them

I've often thought it would be a perfect seahorse tank. I guess I need to do some reading up and see if I can really commit to it. I know they need frequent feeds. That could be a problem since I travel fairly frequently. Then again if DH really gets into the horses, he's more likely to gladly pinch hit for me when I'm out of town.

That must be some seriously intense homework, you've been at it for 2 days now?!

Apologies. I've been really burnt out with everything for the past couple days, and really exhausted. I need a break, but no such luck in sight. I'll get something more for you by the end of the year
