    Default Reefchik's 90 Gallon reef

Ok, I'll show a progression since I started this tank in July of '09:

I need to get new photos since adding a T-5 fixture and redoing the rock work last week. I got rid of most of the Kenya tree and anthelium last weekend at Gerber's. I want to slowly progress more towards SPS, concentrating on montis and pocillopora and similar SPS. I'm newly enamored of colorful zoas, too, but wondering if I'm going to have much luck with them.

Since about 1998-99. Just about the time Miamisburg Superpetz broke down their SW section and I went to work there. I was Asst. Mgr of Aquatics and Livestock and got interested in it talking to some employees and the area supervisor (whose name I can't remember for the life of me). I got a 55 from one of my employees, and went crazy with it!

That is a gorgeous softy tank. What sparked your interest in hard corals?

I was always fascinated by the colors and the challenge. I just couldn't afford them, nor the equipment to make them flourish. Now, I can ;-)

BTW, my avatar is from the old 55 reef. I had a clown that tried to host in my sarc. I always did well with those corals, as you can see, I have another big one in this tank that has grown from a tiny little 1 inch starter from Gerbers just about 2 years ago.

Good luck, Mayhem. I love my 90. Do you have a thread going yet?

I'm looking forward to meetings and swaps!
