I am just going to frag it again. It is bigger than it was the first time I fragged it now. I will keep this updated. Or you just might be the lucky person who scores it at the swap.

So I had a semi-successful 2nd fragging of the toadstool. I cut 4, and 2 of them blew away in the flow (hopefully to reappear later). Here are the 2 that are still in place.1135

It's getting rid of a skin or something

shedding a mucous layer to clean itself perhaps.

Leathers can form a mucus on them to clean themselves, but it is usually white. Are the polyps coming out regularly?

Polyps were coming out great for the first week or so. Gorgeous! But...now they aren't. :( What do I do, oh Toadstool King Jeremy?

how much flow are they in? If you saw my video of my mother colony it is in some pretty good flow. Also what kind of lighting is it under?

I'll move it into more flow, see if that helps.

Also judging by the long stems on the zoas to the left of them in the pic, it may need more light. What lighting is on the tank and how far away from the fixture are they?

Those zoas have been like that since back when I was using florescent lights. I'm running 4 T-5's right now.
2 are 10,000K daylights,
1 is an Actinic,
and 1 is a 50% Actinic 04 & 50% Tri-band phosphor (12,000 K).

How old are they? If they are close to a year or older, they need changed. If the bulbs are current brand they are toast at about 6-8 months. I would run 2 ati blue plus, 1 fiji purple or uvl actinic white and 1 ati aquablue when you get new ones. This bulb setup looks sweet.

I've only had them since February, I think. Maybe later than that. They are not 6 months old. They're Deep Blue's Solarmax HE from Justin. I'll try that when I change bulbs, but these aren't that old yet.

Cool I would just move it higher up and in to more flow. Let us know how it does.
