I have put in motion the change to LED Lighting over my tank. I have been researching this for a while and have talked to others that have done it.

I am going with 3 set of 24 (12white, 14Blue) LEDs. I may also add some smaller clusters in-between these set depending on how things look.

This will start happening with one set at one end to test things. I am going to start this project when I get my tax money back.

I will be going from 1200Watts of lighting down to less than 250Watts of Light.

My LED test over my macro algae has worked out well. I have 7Watts of LED light growing macro algae just as good as any other light I have used.

I will post updates once this starts until it is finished.

sounds good do keep posting i would like to do this myself not sure if it will be costly or not what brand leds are you using?

I am waiting on my Tax check to get here this week and I heard from the place I am gonna get them from that they are getting in a newer better LED so I have them emailing me when they come in and I will be going with those. This may be next week or the week after.

Today I purchased the 3 main Heatsinks for the units. I hope to order the LEDs next week I am waiting on word that they have the newer one instock .
