Feeding corals

Anybody use this stuff called Marine Snow? Is it comparable to Rod's Reef? How often do you feed this stuff to the corals? Daily? Once a week? Suggestions?

I always heard the Marine Snow sold was mainly water but I forget the brand, that was a few years ago when only one company made it. I am not sure about what is out now. I would put it in the tank every few days or so, to much may cause algae.

Marine Snow is made by Two Little Fishies, I believe it is a very good product. Just about anything made by Julian Sprung is top notch. I am not sure of the old formula, but the stuff we have been stocking and using is extrememly thick. It is mainly detritus, and other organic matter that is naturally occuring in the ocean. I use it twice a week, mixing it in my coral blend. The consistancey is so thick that if you are spot feeding, it keeps your food heavy enough to sit in the mouths of the polyps giving them more time to digest it.

Sounds good, Glad there is a better product on the market now. I will have to check it out sometime.

what coral blend are you using in addition?

I tried the snow yesterday for the first time. Didn't pay attention to the consistency because I put it in right over a korelia and it gets sucked into and sprayed out real quick. The sun corals opened rite up and bigger than I ever seen them open; and they stayed full open all night. So they responded better to the snow than DTs phytoplankton or Rods reef food; or several other blends.
