I know this is an older post but I need 2 no; lighting & shrooms; I got some ricordea from someone and think I've put in same location in tank but not sure about lighting. they were green in his tank but brown in mine. They r green under actinics but compacts & mh they turn brown. Should I put under shade rock? I've had them 4 a week.
Sincerely, newbe Ray

I would put them higher up to get more green out of them.

Delayed reply. The Recordia are under blue actinic and white 75w I believe; With two 175 metal halides about 8 hours a day. There not looking good now.I dont know whats the problem. water params. are the same (good).

Seems odd,, I have some under 400w MH that are huge. I would guess a water issue.

I'm beginning to think it the lights. I've moved them up and they got worse and I moved them into indirect light and they got worse and I moved them back and they show some green under actinics. But they have not returned to as large as they were before. And my bta moved to the surface but now since I am useing the lights from the 180 it has moved down

It was the lights. I've put new halides in and there looking real good now.Phoenix 14000 k 150x2. I think the compacts need replaced also. Its been 7mos. on them. It's an oddessy.
