Anyone else try running their tank with no lights for a few days. I have been turning off my Lights for 1-2 days once a month. This seems to help clear the water and slow down the algae.

No I never have. Although I am contemplating it now. Once the Briopsis is cleared out, and the resulting excess nutrients are processed.

No light would help get rid on the algae, it did for me.

Briopsis? And why can't I ever spell that the same?
From what I read, and boy did I read for 8 straight hours. This crap needs next to nothing to survive. It hits low nutrient systems and thrives, because nothing is competing at that point.
I am going to kill the frag tanks lights for a few days. lots of crap growing on the glass there. And since only half is lit right now, I can see exactly where the light is most intense lol. Like a cheap PAR meter.
