I just did a led light for my 2.5 gallon freshwater tank a few days ago and thought I would share it. It has 9 white and 9 blue leds.
I got the led's and resistors here. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=073-022 also got these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=073-018. I used an old cell phone charger for the 5 volt power supply.
Some pics of the parts.

I wired in a switch to turn off the whites so that only the blues would run. I am going to be putting a dimmer on the blues as well.
Pics of the guts to the light.

Not the best quality of video. Did it with cell phone.
Total cost of leds and parts was $ 0.42. :)

I really like it. I would like to see it with green plant and regular brown gravel. The blue on blue on blue is a little much maybe. LOL blue back ground to :P
