I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. For my family, Christmas isn't just about family and friends and presents. For us it holds a significance to our faith. I'm not a strictly religious person, but I truly believe in the God of the Bible, and his son, Jesus, and the significance of his claims, actions, and commands.
There are many who use this time to try to start a battle. If you do not celebrate the religious significance of the holiday, I'm okay with that. But I hope you will allow me to include you in what is an extremely important holiday for my faith. Rather than be offended, please feel complimented that I choose to include you. I am not offended by Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, the Hindu Festival of Lights, or any other such holidays. In fact, I truly appreciate those who genuinely wish me well during those holidays that they find significant.
There is much more that can be said here, but basically it is my hope that, whatever your beliefs or non-beliefs are, you and yours take the time to reflect on the year, the significance of friends and family, and the gift of life we have all been given.
