Nice article. Just seems like an awful lot of work and would probably cost more to build than just purchasing a tank outright. But, nice plans for those that like to DIY.

It's not that easy Eric???? This is a project I want to try someday, although this is not a plan I will use. I'm not sure where his sweat equity saved him any money. I could see building a tank this size to practice, but think he is a few hundred gallons short of saving any money.

Its alot of hard work!!
You would need to go atleast 500Gallon to make it worth your time and money.

Also remember the author was in Hawaii......when it's all imported and a LOT more expensive. I think that's where his sweat equity payed off.
