Will crushed coral hurt fish ..

My crushed coral has used up all it's benefits in my freshwater tank. I need to replace it after 5 years of keeping everything balanced. I was thinking of just using it for gravel. Will it hurt my fish ? I have a shark, catfish and Pleco. I didn't know if the crushed coral has sharp edges or not.

It should not hurt the fish, I would rinse it off!

Thanks Eric .. yes, I will rinse it good. Just wasn't sure about the fish getting cut on it.
