I have seen where people have hung certain corals from fishing line to produce a completely rounded coral with no base. Given the corals were not given a consistent base to grow on they would grow together on all sides in a clump. Have seen this done in books and online. Red goni is the hardiest of the genus and the longest lived in home aquaria.
