Feeding Corals

After feeding a coral, and he still has his mouth wide open, do you keep giving him food ?

Frogspawn. I fed it last night, than after feeding the other guys, I noticed his mouth was wide open, so I fed him more. He would close it when I put the food in there, than a few minutes later, it was open again. He has a big mouth ... lol

No kidding, he acted like he hasn't been fed in a month. I feed them once a week.

Watch them a few hours after you feed. They will spit out what they don't eat. These LPS that can be fed can be a HUGE nitrate problem. People feed them, and then feed more. After the lights are out they spit out the 3 cubes of Mysis you shoved down its throat :p

Yeah I would have to agree. dont overfeed because it still begs you....lol

What do you feed them?

A stew of Cyclopes, Marine Snow, Zooplex and Phytoplex. Sometimes I substitute the Cyclopes for Mysis.

I just use 1 cube. And it's shared with the others. I use a syringe to feed them. So it's more like 3 squirts ... lol
