I would be sure to clean it often (weekly) until you can upgrade to a sump with some biological/mechanical filtration for best results.

Can you give me more information on this?

Canister filters are just more for freshwater. For saltwater you usually want an overflow to skim the display tank water level, the overflow drains to a sump, then a return pump forces the water back into the display tank. My overflow drains into a filter sock (changed every 2-3 days), then flows into my first section with live rock cheato algae and a deep sand bed. Then the water flows into my protein skimmer/phos reactor section, goes through a bubble trap then the return pump pushes the water back onto the display. You can also hide your heater in it to hide it from regular viewing.

True, but canister filters make nice media reactors. Thats about it for saltwater, expensive media reactors. Good place for filter floss, carbon, and GFO.

I have found the paper work on the tank, I also have a overflow, protein skimmer. My husband and I just moved the tank to living approx 3 weeks ago. The window is a non-working one and we will be blacking out the window to make sure I get no algae. So far I have no trouble with the tank except for the heaters going out about every two years and now have the Aiptasia they started showing up before the move of the tank. I have never had them in past, until now. I have been treating them with Chem-Marin stop Aiptasia by Al Ciannelli, it works ok with the small ones. Then I went to Jack's Aquarium in Huber Heights and was told that Peppermint shrimps will eat them, so I got two of them. So my question is this will the peppermint shrimps eat the one that had been treated several days ago? This apitasia will not go away. If so, how long will it take for the peppermint shrimp to decide to eat it. Second question, I know I can get them from live rock, but does it take 3 years for it to show up? And can they come on snails or hermit crabs? Then I notice a small one on my feather duster, and got it gone finally. I will apprecite any answers on this

They can come on anything, they were probably just too small to see.

Thank you this helps. I will be more aware of items I buy, I will look at tanks more closer to see if I see any in tanks.

Toss in a peppermint shimp. Takes em a little bit, but before you know it no more aptasias in main display...however, dont be surprised to see one every now and then. I put one in my 14g biocube a couple weeks ago. Still have some aptasias and cant really tell how many are being eaten.

One thing to remember is not all Pepperments will eat them, Justin at Aquatic Specialists has the correct ones.

Also canister filters can become nitrate factories real quick.

On Sunday my husband and I stop by Aquatic Specialists to take a look around and I had a few question, met Justin's wife and was very helpful. I was thinking about turning the fresh water into a salt, but I think now I just may get a larger tank, instead of having two 55 gallon and do it up right. The largest I can go with the tank is between 70 to 90 gallon, and I am looking for anyone to help with suggestions and proper termology, so I can research. Any help will be greatly appreciate. thanks

Everyone here has some degree of experience. Some more, some less. Post all your questions here on the site and I am sure you will get the info you need from experienced aquarists here.
Probably one of the most important things to ponder and research is what type of saltwater animals do you want to keep. You stated the largest tank you can go is up to 90 gallons. My suggestion is to research the types of invertabrates, corals and fish you wish to keep. We have a great library here at SG available to premium members. There is a plethura of online sites such as Advanced Aquarists, Garf, Melev's Reef...etc. Here is a link you can check out. Lots of info.....http://www.advancedaquarist.com/

They make a 120 that is the same length as the 75.
Get one that is reef ready, this means the overflow is build into the tank.
This will let you have a sump to hide all your equipment.
Keep reading and learn as much as you can.
