We have had this (pic below) about a week and it is not as extened as it was at justins. Should it be moved to the bottom. Also we have some zoas and they are turning brown should they be moved closer to the bottom.

the coral in the pic i would guess it is a flow issue. what kind of flow is it in? for the zoas, if it is a light issue, i would guess it would be too little light. zoas tend to not open or wither away if they are getting too much light. what kind of lighting do you have and how close are they to the lamps? also how old are the lamps? if the zoanthids have a long stem it usually means they are reaching for more light. i have almost 30 different kinds of zoa/palys in my tank and i barely see any stem on any of them because they have plenty of light. hope this helps.

they are close to the top of the tank and no the light is new. they were green in the middle now the whole thing is brown there is a pic of them on my profile under corals maybe that will help. So i should have the plate coral in a higher flow area?

as long as the tentacles are gently moving it should be fine.

i looked up your other thread and if your tank is only 2 months old you might not get the best colors from corals yet.

i just didnt want them to burn up wasnt sure thought that they could be getting to much light. so its safe to leave them at the top? Is that where they will do the best?

what kind of light do you have? i really doubt they are getting too much light, but you could try moving them and see what happens. i have some that strayed up the rock into a high light area and the green turned to yellow and they wont open all the way. wish i could get a pic but they are not easy to see.
