Hi. I joined after following a Google search for a tribal or warpaint blenny. I have been trying to find more info on them and the search result brought me here. I had to register before I could read anything, so I did and here I am. I didn't find the information I needed, but I'm still happy to have joined another reef community. :)

My name is Sandy, I'm a stay at home mom. I keep and breed several snakes in addition to keeping aquariums. Reptiles and reefs are definitely addictive (and sometimes pricey) hobbies to have. I currently have a 46g bowfront reef and as soon as I get the funds for the lighting I want, I'll have a 75g reef up and running.

I bought the tank with fixture already built onto the canopy. It's a set of 4 T8 bulbs suited for a planted freshwater tank. I'm planning to replace it with the AquaticLife 6-Lamp T5HO fixture. I love the built in digital timer and the unit itself looks so sleek. After a few financial setbacks, I'm having to take things slower than I would like with this tank but it's just an exercise in patience I guess. It's giving the pods in the tank additional time to increase in number as well, so I guess that's a plus.

Thanks. :)

I wanted to know if the ***es can be distinguished and if a pair could be kept in my 75g. I also wanted to find a reputable supplier that has them in stock. I first saw them when I was looking at Aquatic Connections website but they have a horrible BBB rating (F) so I don't plan on doing any business with them.

Yes, they can kept together if they are male and female. And yes they can typically be ***ed. I can get them pretty regularly, they run generally $20.00, sometimes cheaper. If you are wanting a pair I would have to request and order that for you.

How do you identify male and female between them? Do you ship? :)

If your supplier could tell you how to differentiate between them, I'd be really grateful.

I'm located in Powell, TN (37849)

My supplier said no visable difference between them. The only method I could think of is put a group in a closed enviroment. The males will quarrell with each other the females will ignore other females. If two of them are laying together being peaceful and generally always staying together that would most likely be a pair. I will see about doing this for you. I will order some next week, if they are available (generally they are), and see what I can do with them for you.
